Young Chefs was developed as a follow on to the successful Practical Cooking for Babies and Toddlers (CHOICE Books 1999). My children were growing up and wanting to now get involved in cooking so they could eat it too. Young Chefs has recipes which are simple and easy to prepare for children from 5 years onwards. With the growing concern of childhood obesity, healthy eating is essential for children to develop to their full potential from eating nutritious foods in reasonable amounts. A child who has the ability to cook has the ability to choose healthy food for themselves. |

HOW TO BEGIN YOUR COOKBOOK FUNDRAISER
Plan the month you want to have the Young Chefs cookbook fundraiser. Contact Young Chefs office to let us know how many fundraising brochures you will require. We will also send a sample book to leave in the office for parents to view. Distribute your brochures. Generally allow2 weeks from sending out the forms to closing date. Simple ordering—just collect the orders, count the money (if you need to), check the form has been filled in correctly and post the orders to us. We will then email you with a tax invoice for amounts owing. Prompt payment of the invoice will mean prompt dispatch of the books. Receive your orders back in 14 days or once the invoice has been paid. The books will arrive organised, pre-packed and labelled for each customer (with class name), ready to hand out. |

Two young hungry babies inspired Joanna to write Practical Cooking for Babies & Toddlers. Using her experience as a Qualified Chef and Home Economist and her vast library of recipes her first childrens cookbook was completed and published in 1999 by CHOICE Books. As the children grew so did their tastes and appetites. From their joy of helping in any way with preparing any meal so did Joanna’s recipes. At her children’s Primary School recipes used at home were tested with class groups. This was beneficial for children to further enhance their maths and literacy understanding. It was during this time that Young Chefs was developed with the sole purpose of selling to schools as a healthy fund-raiser. Since the launch of the book in 2009 it has been available to Primary Schools, Kindergartens and Playgroups as a successful fundraiser with minimal effort from the School. |
